Join Laura Holling Kaplan, master clay sculptor,
for a fun filled clay class making a custom bowl
for your furry friend.
In this 3-hour class, you will receive easy,
step-by-step instructions using clay hand building techniques
to create your own Custom Pet Bowl.
THIS CLASS WAS CREATED FOR NOVICE STUDENTS!
NO ART EXPERIENCE NEEDED!
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE ARTSY!
At the beginning of class,
you will choose from one of three bowl sizes:
1-Large Dog Bowl: 8" Diameter x 2.75"
1-Medium Dog Bowl: 6" Diameter x 2.75"
1-Cat Water & Food Bowl Set: 4.50" Diameter x 1.50"
You will be given simple instructions to texture and build your bowl
using an array of stamps, textured rollers and carving tools
to give your masterpiece the perfect look.
Once you have finished the hand building portion of class,
you will paint with Food Safe Glazes to add color,
to your bowl and make it extra special.
At the end of class our piece will be gathered and taken to
LHK Clay Studio to be air dried and kiln fired.
This process will take 3-4 weeks depending on the
weather's humidity levels.
Note: Firing projects that have any bit of moisture in them is a big NO! NO!
because it can cause cracks and BIG KA-BOOMS!
Once your class projects have been fired and are finished,
you will receive an email for Laura, as to when you can pick up your bowl
at the location where you took your class.
